At Clear Track Studios, we offer group & 1-on-1 styles of instruction for our audio engineer & music production courses. Over the years, we have found that many students prefer learning in a 1-on-1 learning environment with the instructor. There are many reasons for this:

Low Stress Environment

In our 1-on-1 courses, we provide a calm, accepting environment for the student and the instructor. In fact, we find that this allows students to ask questions without fear that they will be wrong or judged by other students. Eliminating this stress opens up a greater likelihood for students to take risks, enjoy their education and to fully duplicate/apply the information we teach them. This method of teaching can also prove beneficial for students with special needs or learning disabilities as they have consistent, dedicated attention from instructors.

A Personalized Curriculum

Every course we offer has a standard curriculum. But when someone signs up for the 1-on-1 option, the instructor quickly gains feedback from their student and takes the opportunity to tailor the curriculum closer to what the student is wanting to learn! From here, we can provide additional data and direct the education closer to their goals in the music industry. We find that a personalized curriculum and customized assignments translate into better engagement and excitement in our courses!

Easier to Gauge Progress

All of our 1-on-1 courses allows instructors the opportunity to handle any confusion and ensure progress! When a teacher works directly with one student, they get a really strong sense of their student’s progression, strengths, and weaknesses. This way, instructors have a deep understanding of what the student needs most to best prepare them to continue moving forward. Handling the confusion and stops that a student may go through really provides a greater sense of stability and accomplishment for the student!

Flexible Schedule

Our group courses are on a set schedule - every Sunday for 10 weeks. But with our 1-on-1 courses, we provide the opportunity for the student to create their own set schedule based on their availability as well the studios available times. For example: Out of town students can schedule their 10 classes within a 2-week period of time (10 classes spread out over 14 days while they're in town). Or some students prefer spreading out their classes (1 class every 2 weeks) in order to practice at home in-between each new topic. Scheduling each class is flexible enough to fit anyone's availability or preference!

Tailored Learning Style

Everyone has their own style of communication and learning. With our1-on-1 courses, students are able to convey their specific learning needs so all of the key learning data is less likely to get lost in translation. Whether the student needs more hands-on practice or if something is needs to be further defined, a student has direct access to their teacher to figure out what they might be missing.

EVEN MORE HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE

All of our courses provide an extensive amount of hands-on experience. But with our 1-on-1 courses, we offer each student the opportunity to practice within available rooms before or after their assigned class times. We firmly believe that repetition and continuous practice creates “muscle memory” and engrains the basic workflow actions of recording, editing, tuning, mixing and mastering.

Use of own music in sessions

Since a majority of our students are also artists, the “practical application” days in our 1-on-1 courses provide the option of recording, editing, and mixing one’s own music! Whether a solo artist or a member of a band, the student provides the music and the instructors assist, suggest and collaborate so the student can apply the knowledge to their own sound.

GEAR & SETUP CONSULTATION

If the student is interested in creating their own studio set up, instructors will provide a personalized consultation to help develop a customized studio of their own! Based on the students resources, they will develop a basic floor-plan, gear list and game plan on how it’ll be executed. After the course is complete, the instructors will continue to be available for assistance throughout the process!
